Server Administrator

Attain Technology is looking for a driven, highly skilled technician who is a collaborative problem-solver. Should have a proven track record of working within a team environment to successfully address challenging technical issues while striving to provide excellent customer experiences. A working knowledge of server and VMWare implementations is required for this position.

Our technicians are responsible for maintaining user and network up-time and improving IT experiences through effective remote monitoring, maintenance, problem identification, and resolution activities, as well as providing exceptional customer service. Candidates must be energetic, persistent, and focused with a strong motivation to learn new technologies and work within a structured problem management and resolution process to deliver effective support services. Responsibilities include identifying, documenting, and troubleshooting issues to resolution and maintaining customer satisfaction. Other requirements include developing and maintaining relationships with user and vendor contacts, preparing, and presenting service, and monitoring reports regularly.

What we are looking for:

• Five years’ hands on IT experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate with team, users, and vendors.

Strong knowledge of:

• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2008-2019 operating systems.
• Hyper-V and VMWare server virtualization technologies
• Successful project management
• Following customer diagrams/specifications to install hardware into server racks (includes large battery backup systems)
• Ability to work within realistic deadlines.

Familiar with:

• Ticketing systems
• Remote monitoring systems
• Microsoft SQL Server
• DHCP/DHPC Server
• DNS/DNS Server
• Network troubleshooting skills
• Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 (troubleshoot, configure)
• Microsoft Office, M365
• Backup solutions
• TCP/IP routing, communications protocols and ports, and configuring firewall rules.
• Configuring and troubleshooting IP-network printing and scanning
• Inventory tracking

Experience with the following is a plus but not requirement;

• A Plus Certification
• Sage 100/300
• MaaS360
• Network Plus Certification
• VMware Certified ESXI and vSphere
  • Configure High Availability
• Knowledge of Scada systems and RS232
• Familiar with Dell Hardware

This Position Entails:

• Includes onsite (our location) component to assist with the build/configuration of server racks to be used on renewable energy projects.
• The ability to install, configure, manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and support our users' networks, servers, software and services.
• Troubleshooting user problems over the phone, onsite, and with remote control technologies
• Accurate documentation of all activities/processes conducted through a ticketing system.
• Analyzing remote monitoring reports to identify capacity and performance issues and remediation.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing needs.
• Ability to communicate proper expectations to clients as well as internal team.
• Not be afraid to express needs/suggestions in a positive, respectful way regardless of team members position in organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
