Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Atlantic Prevention Resources is looking for a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join the team. You will provide individual and group counseling for individuals who have a substance use disorder and or have a co-occurring disorder. Intake, assessment and case management services, ongoing assessment for program eligibility, monitoring all aspects of care and client services, and other miscellaneous tasks that may be required, at the discretion of Program Director.

Responsibilities

  • Providing alcohol and substance abuse counseling in individual and group formats
  • Schedule and/or participates in Case Conference with clients/caregivers, and service care planning
  • Work closely with client to develop and revise care plans that are client focused and meet client needs
  • Utilize case management skills, advocacy, and discharge planning to link clients and their families to resources and services

Qualifications

  • CADC Certification
  • High School Diploma or Bachelors of Arts (preferred)
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or within the field

Atlantic Prevention Resources, Inc. was founded by a small group of concerned citizens in 1985, originally as the Council on Alcoholism of Atlantic County. Since that time, the organization has substantially increased the level of service that it provides to people who live, work, or attend school in Atlantic County. The original funding consisted mainly of a $25,000 annual grant from the New Jersey Division of Alcoholism. And the agency became a member of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence and the United Way of Atlantic County.
