Compensation: 12/hr with a 1 raise for each returning internship year
FLSA Status & Work Hours: Non-exempt full-time position (37.5 hrs/week) from Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM CST
Internship Dates: 11-week program from Tuesday, May 26th to Friday, August 7th 2020
Office Location: In-office role at 500 N Central Expy #550, Plano, TX 75074

College 2 Career Summer Internship Program:
At AssuredPartners, we are excited to offer a robust professional development program that starts with college interns who can progress to long, fulfilling careers in the insurance industry. As a college intern, you will have the opportunity to work with a service mentor throughout the duration of your internship, as well as learn more about different departments and opportunities across AssuredPartners. You will also complete a summer-long internship project to be presented to AssuredPartners' leadership at the conclusion of your internship experience. The goal is to teach you the skills to return to AssuredPartners for a full-time opportunity, post-graduation.
Overview of the Summer Internship Program and Service Intern:
As a Service Intern, you will gain an understanding of the Insurance Industry and the distribution models for Insurance Products. The program will provide you with a broad understanding of the insurance brokerage cycle from identifying and properly marketing risks, building a service timeline, implementing service requests, and working through a renewal. You will build valuable skills in creating and presenting business proposals, understanding specific carrier and wholesaler risk appetites, and developing time management strategies.
Service Intern Primary Responsibilities:
During our Internship Program, you will:
Complete a rotation through various department teams that help assess issues, develop solutions, negotiate risk transfer contracts, and provide claims advocacy on behalf of policyholders
Review contracts and tailor policies around specific legal requirements
Accompany Account Managers on renewal meetings
Gather quotations for clients and vendors
Understanding key insurance coverages and applying them to specific client opportunities
Copy data and compiles records and reports
Opens and routes incoming mail, answers correspondence and prepares outgoing mail
Tabulate and post data in appropriate customer contact system or in database/spreadsheet
Follow company policies with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities
Service Intern Qualifications:
Must have an interest in learning about the different departments within an insurance agency (commercial lines, personal lines, client services, and beyond)
Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in a Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university
Located in Dallas, or willing to relocate at own expense, for the full 11-week duration of the summer internship (May 26th to August 7th 2020)
Ideal candidates will be professional and congenial - with inquisitive personalities and critical thinkers
Must be driven, self-starting, and coachable while demonstrating a high level of maturity
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents, and a high capacity for learning is critical
