Job Description
Position Summary

The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for assisting in the production of new and renewal accounts in keeping with Company and individual producer goals and provides field service in support of producer activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Market, service, develop and retain assigned accounts in coordination with producers.
  • Obtain new business and renewal information, help complete applications, escalate service problems.
  • Assist with the planning of client initial and subsequent enrollment/educational meetings.
  • Interact with all appropriate internal departments as their functions relate to our clients.

  • Request and process renewals, endorsements and other needed data from the companies and insureds. Solicit producer assistance, when necessary, in order to issue coverage in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Promptly manage and check for accuracy, new and renewal policies, endorsements, and billing invoices.
  • Maintain files in an orderly, up-to-date manner.
  • Determine reasons for requests for cancellations, and act to save accounts in cooperation with producers according to Company standards. Process and follow up on cancellation request to carriers to ensure accurate and timely resolution.
  • Effectively manage requests from clients and companies and comply with the request in coordination with the Producer.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Insurance industry designations and college associate's or bachelor’s degree highly desirable.
  • High school diploma required, with additional training.
  • 5 years related experience; Proven experience collaborating with complex customers.
  • Ability to fulfill job responsibilities through acceptable attendance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to influence others and identify positive, effective solutions.
  • Must be a collaborator and willing to find and negotiate win-win solutions for our customers, companies, and Company.
  • Ability to interpret abstract information and possess good presentation skills.
  • Must have strong computer skills and be able to effectively utilize the Company’s management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Programs.
