Job Description

The Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado (AGNC) Board of Directors is seeking a full time Executive Director who is experienced, self-motivated, willing to work independently to implement programs and policies adopted by the board.   AGNC represents the cities and counties in planning and management Region 11 which includes Garfield, Mesa, Moffat, and Rio Blanco counties on regional issues and programs.  Executive Director Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: budget management, oversight of the NW Colorado Enterprise Zone, management of the AGNC Economic Development District to include the implementation of the regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, contract administration as well as legislative monitoring and advocacy programs.

Applicants must have good oral and written communication skills, knowledge of economic development principles, public lands, and natural resource issues as well as local government or management experience. The successful candidate must be willing to travel extensively throughout the region representing AGNC in Denver, Washington D.C. or other locales as needed.  A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related field.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of college degree.
