Job Description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Director of Operations to join our Senior Management Team and report directly to the CEO. The right person will help to shape our manufacturing strategy with a focus on Quality, Accountability and Lean principles.

Responsibilities:

Participate in Strategic Planning and Company goal setting as a member of the Senior Management Team
Drive a Lean culture and operational improvements in our 50K sq foot facility in Acton MA
Optimize Supply Chain Management with defined metrics and goals around cost & working capital decreases and on-hand availability for production
Streamline handoffs between work centers that include metal fabrication, electrical, refrigeration, assembly, and test procedures
Work closely with the software and R&D teams to assure proper integration of technology into our units
Develop and manage KPI’s and/or OKR’s for reporting teams
Continue to develop team member training programs on core competencies and participate in regular evaluation of staff

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree required
8 - 10 years of experience in operations; preferably in a manufacturing / industrial / electronics background.
Experience with mechanical and electrical engineering on manufacturing new product design, BOM structure, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and quality improvement
Experience with creating, implementing and maintaining metric based evaluations
Lean & Six Sigma training a plus

Skills/Abilities you will have:

Understanding of precision mechanical assembly processes, machining processes and mechanical tolerances, electro-mechanical system assembly and test
Continuous process improvement, and ongoing process optimization and cost reduction
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including history of good working relationships with both engineering and sales
Excellent technology, verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.

Since 1959, Associated Environmental Systems has designed, manufactured, and supported standard and custom test chambers that meet your most demanding requirements. Our products vary in size from small benchtop test chambers to very large walk-in or drive-in environmental rooms.

AES’s robust test chambers simulate hot and cold temperature extremes and variations, and humidity and moisture conditions. We build salt spray and thermal shock chambers as well.
