The Senior Systems Engineer is a hands-on position responsible for leading the technology team supporting end-users at Aspen Aerogels. Responsibilities include managing computer systems and applications, software issues and lifecycle, managing vendor relationships and service performance using IT helpdesk software, owning tools that support endpoints and business systems.

This person will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement through automation, defining and operating IT user support services, operational processes, and using the latest technologies and trends while protecting endpoints from security risks and vulnerabilities. Major Areas of Accountability: * Build short-term and long-term roadmap of the end-user computing services to align with company strategy and support initiatives to completion. * Support the day-to-day operations of the end-user computing team, which includes delivering to committed service levels. This task will consist of monitoring workload, reporting on key support metrics. Also, will act as technical and process escalation to the team. * Establish and maintain a working relationship with business units to understand their challenges and technology requirements. * Lead process definition and improvements of IT user support experience projects.

This role will include all incident and problem management steps and tasks between incident/request intake and resolution. * Own the technology that supports software delivery and support, automation, and security compliance of end-user computers. * Partner with information security engineers to define and enforce PC compliance through tools and processes. * Perform system upgrades and maintenance including service packs, hot fixes, and security configurations * Select, implement, and support enterprise systems, tools, policies, and procedures * Produce documentation for existing and new systems and procedures * Coordinate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution * Perform installation and migration of systems and services at branch locations. * Ability to respond to after-hours support requests. Required Skills: * Windows Server Administration - 2012,2016,2019 * VMware Virtualization * Azure AD * Office 365 * In-depth understanding of Network concepts * System imaging and hardening * Data Migration * VEEAM Backup & Replication Education: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Experience: * Minimum of 8 years of hands-on technical experience supporting end users. * Minimum of 2 years of technical experience in building and supporting a desktop engineering/end user technology support team. * Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Windows 10+, Windows Server, Microsoft Office, Azure AD, Helpdesk Management software, Intune, AirWatch MDM, PowerShell and & end point security tools. * Proven organizational skills and attention to detail * Focused individual who is able to manage technology projects from start to finish * Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting work priorities. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients. * VMware & SAN storage support experience. * Experience with VEEAM backup products.
