ABOUT THE LOUISVILLE ORCHESTRA

The Louisville Orchestra (LO) has long had a strong reputation for innovation, creativity, and excellence. During Music Director Teddy Abrams' tenure in leading the local arts community at the helm of the LO, the Orchestra has achieved unprecedented civic impact and national recognition, and the momentum is manifest in the many creative programs and projects successfully conceived and developed over the past eight performance seasons made possible under Teddy's leadership. With an annual operating budget of $13M, 58 full-time musicians, and a 34-week performance season, it is currently an organization that is changing the very idea of what a 21st century orchestra can be and do. It is our constant hope that we can change lives throughout our entire community as only the Louisville Orchestra can by promoting a culture of music through outstanding performances and education. Everything we do at the Louisville Orchestra is aimed at fulfilling that mission.
