What You Will Do
As a Medical Lab Technician with Ascension Seton Southwest Hospital you will have the opportunity to perform routine diagnostic / analytic testing of laboratory specimens , and interprets , documents and reports test results under the supervision of a medical technologist / medical laboratory scientist
Responsibilities:
+ Implement , validate , and report laboratory test results
+ Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
+ Conduct quality control and quality assurance testings
+ Maintain supplies needed for performance of tests
+ Assist with data collection or special projects as assigned
+ Demonstrate in depth knowledge of the policies and procedures for patient preparation , sample requirements , specimen collection , and pre-analytical factors that affect sample quality
+ Responsible for training and mentoring of staff and students
What You Will Need
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
+ Required Credential(s):

+ One or more of the following:

+ Laboratory Tech credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
+ Certified Medical Laboratory Tech credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:
+ Diploma
+ High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required

Work Experience:
+ None required.
