Restaurant Traveling Superintendent

The Superintendent is responsible for coordinating and completing specific projects on time, within budget with a keen eye for quality, safety, and production. The superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the on-site management of the project on a daily basis in close coordination with the project manager.

All aspects of the construction process will be a joint effort between the superintendent and the project manager assigned to the project. These responsibilities include: on-site surveys of existing conditions, takeoffs, material orders (with coordination from project management), scheduling, daily reports and photos via electronic template, maintaining project schedules through management of subcontractors, execution of the work with emphasis on quality, reporting of RFIs, COs and any other issues that may arise in the field as well as punch list and close out of the project.

We are seeking experienced candidates with 5 plus years of experience with medical, restaurant, and big box remodels or ground up construction.

Candidate must have a proven record at successfully competing projects on time and with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidate is highly detail oriented, strong problem solver and possess the ability to work with sub-contractors, owner representatives, city officials and design/ engineering professionals at all levels.

Candidate should have at least 5-10 years of experience as a restaurant construction superintendent successfully completing projects in closed and open store remodels.


All candidates must submit a project list along with complete resume.


Requirements

Oversight of all field related activities.,manage project schedule, coordination and scheduling of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Ensures quality control of the work performed in relation to the drawings and specifications.

Oversight of documentation and records of jobsite/construction activities. Performs safety audits, toolbox talks and maintenance of SDS and OSHA required forms. Tracks and receives material deliveries, either furnished by owner or GC.

Coordination with inspectors for various jurisdictions and the ability to schedule inspection either by phone or electronically.

Promotes positive employee relations and supports company policies and procedures.

Ensures all work is performed safely in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Maintains and organizes a clean job site.


Primary Qualifications:

Able to travel across the U.S. as required up to 4 weeks at a time.

Establish and maintain HIGH SAFETY AND QUALITY STANDARDS in accordance to company and industry standards.

Study plans and specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.


Assist in the development of project schedules and updating of progress construction schedules.
Prepare and transmit various reports, i.e. daily reports, manpower counts, project status and owner required reports.
Review all drawings, i.e. shop, architectural, structural, etc. when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times. Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion. Schedule work, including subcontractors and owner vendors.


Confer with and direct subcontractors and engages in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specification, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Manage delivery schedule for Owner Supplied Materials, confirms delivery of various materials including fixtures.

Maintain a clean and organized work site.

Technologically savvy, with regards to email, Microsoft office, on-screen viewing of plans/specs (added plus if they can perform takeoffs)

  • Do Forms a plus
  • ZOHO or related online reporting forms a plus,
  • OSHA 10 or 30 a plus
  • Certifications for lifts, scaffolding a plus
  • Experience with managing self-performed crews (framing, drywall, ACT, flooring, fixtures)
  • Experience with retail fixture sets
  • Experience with structural concrete and steel
