Project managers are the glue that helps keep Artisans on Fire projects — and people — together. Our Creative Project Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, managing and executing creative projects from beginning to end. The project scope can vary from single pieces of collateral to multifaceted, multichannel marketing campaigns.
We are a boutique creative marketing agency, with a unique focus on grey market areas such as online gaming, cannabis, and hunting. We are a close knit group of people, so we have a lot of fun in the office together. That said, we also work pretty hard and generally enjoy putting in the time to make something great for our clients, while also getting to be a part of a market that is changing minds in the industries we are involved in.
You must have a working knowledge of the programs in and around the creative space, including, but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, etc. as well as previous experience working with task management or project management related software such as Asana, Wrike, etc.
Generally speaking, on a day-to-day basis, You will be expected to keep the creative team on task, keep them briefed about their responsibilities, set deadlines and get things done on time, build meaningful relationships with clients, make sure they’re entirely satisfied with the finished product, and manage the entire project.
So what will I be doing?
Strategic communications and planning duties:
Develops and maintains solid client relationships; encourages a collaborative approach with departmental team members.
Works in partnership with Account Managers on specific projects, ensuring that all deliverables are met for the client and key parties informed.
Works with Creative Director to develop a precise production timeline for all aspects of the Artisans on Fire creative services provided.
Use your knowledge of creative applications (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) To write up creative briefs on complex projects and interprets them for project teams in order to lead communication strategies and implement marketing efforts.
Plan and organize projects and details (ex. planning websites, social media campaigns, packaging design processes and marketing strategies, etc.)
Create content and write marketing copy that the target market can't resist
Develop marketing strategies that exceed client goals
Manage communication and scope of work for out of house creative support from vendors. Responsible for getting estimates, contracts, and legal approval.
Leverages knowledge and understanding of graphic design, social media, web design and video production to facilitate effective communication between client and departmental teams.
Client relations and project management responsibilities:
Actively and thoroughly understand clients and their needs
Adapt skill-sets to serve a variety of client industries and personality types
Act as the link between clients and our creative and technical teams, while clearly communicating project requirements
Reviews frequent client change requests and responds with schedule/cost impacts along with alternatives while maintaining a calm, cool, collected attitude in the face of change.
Collaborates on creative development and direction with client, design and production teams.
Proactively collect and manage all project details from client side staff members
Keep projects on-track, on budget and on-time
Manages expectations with clients and departmental teams. Negotiates timelines and budgets and ensures that all deadlines are maintained.Keep team members motivated and collaborating where necessary so we can produce awesome work
Builds job folders with project info; updates as jobs evolve and maintains final updated archive of job tasks and deliverables
Ensures all Regulatory, Legal and Compliance and branding guidelines are followed to the letter on their assigned businesses. Puts projects through the appropriate reviews.
Troubleshoots potential issues with timing, deliverables and keeps all parties informed.
Great project managers tell the truth. They don’t pad schedules, they don’t make up deadlines, they don’t agree to a due date of ASAP. They tell the truth — they seek the truth. By being honest, project managers build relationships and trust not only within their team, but with clients, their boss and other important stakeholders.
Running a project management department will give you opportunities to be deeply involved in and contribute to the creative process at every step. It allows you to assist in work towards fashioning a final creative for mediums such as TV, radio, websites, and print and outdoor media. The PM must have excellent attention to detail, and keep projects moving throughout the creative process.
Project management experience preferably including print, direct marketing campaigns, digital communications, web development and social media campaigns.
Ability to lead teams, both through idea generation and assessment of ideas generated by others.
Team player with excellent relationship building skills.
Solid understanding of marketing.
Project management for marketing communications for, but not limited to, web projects, brand identity, digital marketing assets, photography, print literature, advertisements, logo design, packaging, social media, website/multimedia.
Understands business and technical objectives of web projects
Excellent time-management skills to drive multiple project schedules simultaneously and ensure deliverables are met on time
