We’re looking for a Warehouse Operations Manager to be accountable for the strategic and operational leadership of a high-volume Fulfillment Center. Our ideal candidate knows how to drive for results in a fast-paced and rapidly growing company. The thought of leading a large team and driving continuous improvement through collaboration and implementing scalable systems and processes gets you out of bed in the morning.

What you'll do:
  • Manage the fulfillment center’s warehouse operations with an ownership mindset
  • Embody the Article culture and inspire the team to lead through our guiding principles of customer obsession, do it differently, ownership mindset, and do it differently
  • Manages 3-6 direct reports (exempt) with an overall team of of 50+ associates across three shifts
  • Active involvement with the department(s) throughout the day, monitoring progress towards goals and working with the Supervisor to course-correct where needed
  • Ensure departments are hitting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and KPIs. Be able to speak to performance and results with peers and Fulfillment Center Manager, occasionally interfacing with Senior Leadership
  • Following local, state and federal safety regulations and building a culture of safety
  • Evaluate your department processes and work with your team to improve processes and results within your department(s)
  • Meeting budget parameters and identifying opportunities for savings
  • Mentor, coach and develop exempt (Supervisor) talent. This includes creating development plans, writing reviews and developing succession planning to be reviewed with the Fulfillment Center Manager
  • Regularly meet your Supervisor(s) to receive business updates, build relationships and better understand how you can help them succeed
  • Active participation on projects and initiatives affecting your warehouse. This may include being part of project teams throughout the year
  • Champion the 5s initiative, holding Supervisor(s) accountable for department results and working with other Operations Managers and the Fulfillment Center Manager on building-wide opportunities and accountability
  • Champion a continuous improvement culture that is ongoing and has buy-in for the team(s)
  • Peak season readiness planning, including workload projections, staffing needs, alternate seasonal shifts, etc
  • Ensure labor is being used effectively and processes are being followed
  • Possess a solid understanding of the overall operations within your warehouse and evaluate opportunities that affect the “big picture” of the fulfillment center, not just department specific
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • 5+ years leadership experience in a distribution center environment, managing groups of 50+ people through multiple direct reports
  • Previous experience leading high volume service-oriented distribution centers
  • Experience with automation and warehouse equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Labor Management System experience preferred
  • Ability to lead and maintain a safe work environment
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
  • Able to stand for long periods, and able to lift up to 75lbs
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a an asset
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet the needs of the business
