This position requires Auto Parts Manufacturing experience and Permanent United States Citizenship.
This position writes, maintains, updates, improves and customizes the slate of PLC programs that run our product line-up. The position provides support to Customer Service, Engineering and Sales in a manufacturing facility.
Controls Engineer Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance programming on existing PLC programs for the product portfolio
Work toward a level of understanding in magazine bar feeder operation enough to write an entire PLC program specific to one of our bar feeder models.
Become proficient with the operation of the products enough to test PLC program changes.
Perform maintenance programming on existing HMI programs for all models.
Work towards being able to develop a full PLC and HMI program for new or existing models.
Participates in design reviews, design approvals of custom projects.
Understand and have the ability to document work in an organized and professional manner using revision control. This includes both the evolution of the electronic components (the obsolescence and substitution cycle related to our serialized product) and software updates, patches, and one-off solutions.
Identify and implement improvements for quality, cost, and uptime
Develop and propose spare parts list.
Develop user manuals for operating and servicing the machines.
Controls Engineer Requirements:
3+years’ related experience and/or training in PLC's, Maintenance & Automation.
Knowledge of basic motion control and mechatronics. Ability to understand how CNC lathes function and their relationship mechanically and electronically.
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write technical correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
A good understanding of the entire Microsoft Package (Windows, Word, Excel, Office)
AutoCAD Electrical – Basic knowledge
Basic HMI Design
