Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the implementation of an ERP system for the Accounts Receivable (AR) function, ensuring smooth transition and integration of financial data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and operations, to gather requirements, design workflows, and configure the ERP system to meet AR business needs.
• Develop and document AR processes and procedures in alignment with the ERP system, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Conduct data analysis and cleansing activities to ensure accurate and complete migration of AR data into the ERP system.
• Oversee the testing and validation of the AR module within the ERP system, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
• Train AR staff on the functionality and proper usage of the ERP system, providing ongoing support and guidance during the transition phase.
• Establish and maintain AR-related master data, such as customer records, credit limits, and payment terms, within the ERP system.
• Monitor AR transactions and accounts, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and cash application processes.
• Generate AR reports and analytics from the ERP system, providing insights on key performance indicators and trends.
• Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile AR accounts, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and evolving ERP system functionalities related to AR management, recommending and implementing process improvements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information related to AR processes and transactions within the ERP system.
• Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve ERP system-related issues, escalating to vendors or consultants as needed.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) within the AR function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
• Proven experience in implementing ERP systems, particularly in the area of Accounts Receivable.
• Strong understanding of AR processes, including invoicing, collections, cash application, and credit management.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and related AR modules.
• Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams during the ERP implementation process.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support staff in the use of the ERP system.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in process documentation and procedure development.
• Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
