The Position

This Senior Scientist will be a key member of drug discovery and development teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform in vitro and in vivo assay development and validation
• Design and execute/conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to facilitate drug discovery and development in various disease areas
• Participate in new target identification and validation
• Present research findings to project teams and governance bodies and prepare study reports
• Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab and perform critical experiments
• May mentor/supervise a team of associates and guide the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals
• Co-lead or coordinate the activities of a multi-functional drug development team and is responsible for the milestone achievement of the drug development program

Requirements:

• PhD degree in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or pharmacology with at least 3 years of experience in academia or pharmaceutical/biotech industry 
• A successful track record in drug development or academic research
• Excellent understanding of physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology
• Demonstrated record in innovation, creativity and resilience in problem solving
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred:

• Expertise in CNS diseases is preferred
