Job Description

The Program Manager: Healthcare Compliance is responsible for developing and overseeing an organization's compliance program, building the schedule and training dedicated to organizational compliance, and ensuring compliance with all governing agencies, acts, guidelines, and laws. Including the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and accreditation standards by implementing and administering practices, programs, and policies.

Continued responsibilities include the constant monitoring and administering compliance with local, state, and federal regulators. You will also be responsible for coordinating visits by regulators to sites and acting as a liaison to government agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of the Compliance Program and company operations.
  • Performs daily operational functions of core elements of the organization's compliance program as outlined in Office of Inspector General (OIG) and United States Department of Justice (DOJ) guidance and works with the Chief Compliance Officer on matters needing escalation and resolution.
  • Assists in conducting, recording, and/or supervising compliance incident investigations consistent with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the organizational response and notification processes for compliance & privacy-related incidents (including working with staff on the follow-up to ensure timely responses to those making reports via the anonymous compliance hotline).
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable health care compliance and privacy federal / state requirements and compliance & privacy policies and procedures; participates in healthcare compliance and professional privacy organizations to stay abreast of privacy and corporate compliance developments and leading industry practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation; recommends areas for improvement or where operational controls can be tightened.
  • Coordinate training programs to ensure the entire organization understands the compliance program and other relevant policies.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, though extensive experience in healthcare revenue cycle, nursing, auditing, clinical operations, privacy or compliance will be considered
  • Requires five (5) years in health care related field including healthcare compliance and risk management 
  • Knowledge of pertinent compliance and privacy regulatory requirements and compliance program elements including demonstrated understanding of OIG Compliance Guidelines, billing compliance principles, and HIPAA Privacy requirements.
  • HCCA CHC and CHPC certifications preferred
