Excellent opportunity for a Director, Downstream Marketing

What you will do:

The Director of Downstream Marketing is responsible for leading a team of Product Managers to develop and implement strategies, promotions, and campaigns that drive revenue growth worldwide. Based in the Plano, Texas headquarters, this critical role facilitates the development and execution of commercialization strategies for new products in existing markets, commercialization of existing products into new markets, and facilitating product sales growth up to a product’s end-of-life.

  • Facilitate creation of marketing plans, including selling strategies, pricing and promotional programs
  • Establish the commercialization strategy, schedule, and budget for new product introductions
  • Mentor, grow and develop direct reports on the Downstream Marketing team.
  • Develop and control messaging for a common presentation of company and product brands
  • Create the annual budget for Downstream Marketing expenditures and manage to it
  • Cultivate relationships with industry Key Opinion Leaders and internal customers
  • Monitor, analyze, and trend sales data to illustrate product and market performance, then implement strategies to induce positive sales trends
  • Conduct competitive market research and analyses
  • Grow the company’s brand, awareness, digital footprint and increase efficiency of digital marketing campaigns
  • Conduct regular field visits to maintain a first-hand understanding of the market, the customer, the direct sales team and distributors
  • Coordinate training of sales personnel on the technical, business and clinical aspects of products and procedures
  • Prioritize resources for supporting trade shows, conferences, and distributor meetings
  • Advocate and participate in the company’s Quality system, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and product quality

Skills for Success:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (marketing preferred); MBA preferred
  • 10+ years relevant marketing or sales experience in medical devices
  • Strong influential and direct leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, selling, communication and presentation skills
  • Strategic and analytical thinker
  • Ability to prioritize and execute projects in a fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrated success in developing relationships with colleagues, customers and industry leaders
  • Ability to manage a complex product portfolio
  • Ability to establish new processes and drive organizational change
  • Financial analysis, forecasting and budget management
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally
