Employee Relation Specialist

Up to $60,000/year

Full Time, Mercer County NJ


Who We Need:

This role is to assess the employee experience from onboarding through training and beyond. The ideal candidate has experience in Human Resources or Employee Relations, and has experience promoting a team environment to ensure that there are open channels of communication. You'll serve as a liaison between staff, program management, and administration, visiting multiple program locations throughout Mercer County.


What We Need:

  • EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
    • Actively communicate with Agency leadership to drive awareness, commitment and accountability for the employee experience, to foster an engaging workplace for frontline employees.
    • Collaborate with Agency leadership to implement programs that support and show appreciation for inclusion and diversity in the workplace.

  • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
    • Oversee the tracking and collection of all probationary and annual evaluations.
      • Obtain feedback from both the evaluator and employee, and make recommendations to address needs.
      • Track and analyze responses to determine trends within each department.
      • Complete and submit weekly summary reports to include feedback from staff
    • Provide and/or coordinate training needs with all new staff during the probationary period.
    • Follow up with each staff member for all training or disciplinary issues.
      • Coordinate the support and training needed to include but not limited to: behavior support plans, medication training, adaptive devices, medical needs, and modified diets.
    • Work with the Training & Compliance Manager to develop and implement plans of action to meet the support and training needs of staff as needed.
    • Present monthly reports for review to the Training & Compliance Manager to reflect areas of strengths of training, job satisfaction and areas where additional training and support are needed.

  • OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Conduct training classes, including but not limited to: New Hire Orientation, Emergency Procedures, Medication Administration, Leadership Training, CPR & First-Aid, and other classes as directed.
    • Analyze training situations and make recommendations for change.
    • Attend Administration meetings, Managers' meetings, and location-specific staff meetings as directed.
    • Abide by DDD licensing regulations.
    • Act as an Administrator for College of Direct Support eLearning courses as needed.



What You Need:

  • Strong ability to record and analyze data required.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or 4 years experience in lieu of degree.
  • At least 2 years managing/supervising staff in a DDD Fee for Service setting preferred.
    • Managing union staff is a plus.
  • Must possess and maintain a driver's license valid in the state of New Jersey and meet Agency minimum guidelines for insurability under the agency plan.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suites required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain an American Red Cross CPR, First-Aid, and AED certification and become a certified Instructor.
