Food & Beverage Lead/Conference Setup Supervisor
The Lied Lodge & Conference Center at Arbor Day Farm is seeking a Food & Beverage Lead/Conference Setup Supervisor to join our team. Essential Functions of the Position
o Supervise staff while professionally interacting with the clients, culinary team and sales team to ensure a successful event from planning stages through execution of the event.
o Independently setup and tear down tables, chairs and equipment for private functions.
o Maintain cleanliness and order of all private event and storage space, from top to bottom.
o Train team members in service, sanitation and safety procedures.
o Assign daily duties and responsibilities to employees in accordance to set standards.
o Demonstrate teamwork and hands on management by regularly performing conference services aid, banquet server and bartender duties alongside the team, as business dictates.
o Maintain detailed reports and receipts for management for events including cash management and basic bookkeeping.
o Resolve guest complaints and maintain authority to refuse alcoholic beverages to underage or intoxicated customers.
o Transport equipment, food and beverages, including alcohol, across our property to different venues. Company vehicle provided for such transportation.
Knowledge, Education, Skills, and Abilities
o Must be 21 years of age or older.
o Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.
o Must complete certified current Nebraska Alcohol Service Safety Certificate within two weeks of hire date (training costs will be covered)
o Food and beverage experience of one year in a supervisory role, strongly preferred.
o Basic technological skills required.
o Basic computer skills required. Proficiency in Excel and Outlook preferred.
o Must be able to work extended hours at outdoor event venues in various seasons including temperatures below freezing and above 100 degrees.
o Must be able to navigate uneven surfaces at our historic venue sites.
o Must be able to frequently lift and carry, push & pull up to 25 lbs. & occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 70 lbs. including navigation of full beer kegs.
o Fulltime position. A part time position also available.
o Must be flexible to work between a variety of Food & Beverage Departments, including: Conference Setup, Banquets and Break Service. Scheduling will be based on business levels.
o Must have the ability and desire to work a varying weekly schedule, both varying days of the week and hours of the day. The Food & Beverage Lead/Conference Setup Supervisor will be
scheduled early mornings, afternoons and late evenings. This position requires working whenever there are private events scheduled, including most weekends and all major holidays.
