Job DescriptionUS Citizens only! We have an immediate need for a Project Engineer/Project Manager working for a growing Aerospace & Defense company! The company manufactures highly engineered niche products for the aerospace, military, and medical markets from our modern facility in Southwestern Connecticut. We are looking for a Project Manager. The Project Manager ensures that the project is delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality standard (within agreed specifications). He/she ensures the project is effectively resourced and manages relationships with a wide range of groups (including all project contributors). The Project Manager is also responsible for managing the work of consultants, allocating and utilizing resources in an efficient manner, and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team.

The successful individual will be part of a close-knit group with full exposure and involvement in all aspects of the company. Additionally, the Project Manager will perform technical and administrative engineering tasks to secure and sustain certifications and qualification in support of company objectives to provide continued leadership in aviation, marine and ground vehicle lighting. Responsibilities: • Oversee phase review process for Lighting, NVTE and HES business units. • Oversee qualification testing and certification process for aviation, marine and ground vehicle lighting applications. • Prepare engineering reports, analyses, correspondence, and data to be used for FAA certification of new and existing STC modifications and PMA parts. • Support sales department as needed for new and/or existing products. • Coordinate FAA approvals of PMA, STC, major/minor design changes, and repairs. • Interface with DER’s, or directly with the FAA, in various areas such as certification, lighting flight standards, manufacturing inspection and continued airworthiness. • Direct meetings and technical presentations. • Interface with company technicians, and outside vendors/suppliers to develop product design specifications and optimize production processes. • Daily program management throughout the program life cycle. • Define the program governance (controls). • Plan the overall program and monitor the progress. • Manage the program’s budget. • Manage risks and issues and take corrective measurements. • Coordinate the projects and their interdependencies. • Manage and utilize resources across projects. • Align the deliverables (outputs) to the program’s “outcome”. Education: • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience. Knowledge Requirements: • Good knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques. • Good understanding of the wider objectives of the program. • Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program management. • Strong leadership and management skills. • Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures; and the ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems. • #exl_aquinas
