Job Description

**Must Have an Active TS/SCI** 

Aquila is seeking an Systems Architect Engineer to join our team in supporting one of this country's premier defense research organizations. The Systems Architect Engineer will collaborates with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications. Uses tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product. Develops high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility. Defines all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards. Communicates successfully all concepts and guidelines to the development team. Oversees progress of the development team to ensure consistency with initial design. Provides technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers. Ensures software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc. Approves final product before launch. Experience in software development and coding in various languages (C#, .NET, Java etc.). Knowledge of software and application design and architecture. Knowledge of UML and other modeling methods.

• Evaluate architectures of JWICS environment to provide expanded computing and collaboration capabilities
• Coordinate with stakeholders to capture and negotiate requirements
• Develop system specifications, architecture design, integration, test, and implementation plans
• Support creation of resource and budget for implementation and operations
• Evaluate and report on new/emerging network/communication technologies to enhance capacity, performance and reliability of the service

• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate
• Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical documents and present oral presentations to senior/executive management
• Experience with supporting one or more of the following IP services, NIPRNET, SIPRNET and JWICS
• Creation of network related Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) equipment lists and costing
• Active Top Secret SCI Clearance for JWICS

Must have an active TS/SCI

Willing to review candidates from Lexington, MA and the DMV area. If local to the DMV area, candidates must work at the Crystal City location and are expected to travel to the Lexington, MA site as needed.
