Chemical Lab Facilities Planning Manager

Job Description

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Technical Facilities position to provide technical leadership in managing space planning; equipment install feasibility & planning; facilities capacity; and CAD/As-Built/Point-of-Connection update & revision control for multiple semiconductor or display equipment lab facilities;
  • Develop accurate layout, scope of work, cost estimate and schedule forecast for equipment install and other facilities projects;
  • Execute 30% Design (Planning) for equipment install and other facilities projects,
  • Manage facilities CAD database, mechanical and electrical point-of-connection and as-built;
  • Collaborate with Business Units to identify future lab facilities plans and requirements in order to meet Company product roadmap;
  • Collaborate with Facilities Operations & Engineering to implement and refine facilities capacity model;
  • Assume additional duties and projects as directed by management

 

Functional Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of Semiconductor R&D Facilities planning procedures and processes
  • In-depth knowledge of building, fire, safety, and cleanroom standards and codes
  • In-depth knowledge of Semiconductor R&D Facilities main utility systems
  • Technical knowledge of the semiconductor manufacturing equipment and support equipment
  • Working experience as a planning engineer, facilities engineer or design & construction engineer in semiconductor manufacturing (wafer fab) facilities a strong plus
  • Knowledge of semiconductor facilities systems including but not limited to acid waste and exhaust, solvent waste and exhaust, chilled/condenser water, hot water, process chilled water & DI water, process gases, controls, and monitoring systems
  • Knowledge of Fire Life Safety and Gas Life Safety Systems and requirements
  • Knowledge of City Permit requirements, National Electrical Code, Uniform Building Code, and Fire Codes
  • Knowledge of Environmental & Safety regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge of building control systems and remote energy management systems
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of SPC, 8D, DMAIC, FMEA and other tools
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a larger multifunctional team
  • Good team player in any environment; extensive experience using these skills to resolve differences amongst peers and stakeholders
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD and Windows based software including Excel, Word, Project, Visio & PowerPoint; and familiarity with Cimplicity, TRIRIGA and MAXIMO
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
