Job Summary:

Applied Computing Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Network Engineer with experience working in both on premise and AWS Cloud infrastructure environments. You will work as part of a Solutions Delivery Team (SDT) to support the design, implementation, and support our solutions in varying types of customers infrastructures.

Essential Duties:

·Provide network engineering advice and direct technical assistance in support of an Enterprise Networkenvironment on premise or in a cloud environment

·Support all facets of planning, analysis, design, development, testing, integration and installation foundwithin large-scale router-based networks on premise and/or in a cloud environment

·Use skill and expertise to support network control/communications center operations; system & networkdesign engineering using engineering Computer Aided Design, network topological design tools, andoperating design tools; network capacity planning; analysis of hardware and software interoperability(including protocols, network management and multimedia applications) across conventional networks,hybrid fiber-coaxial transmission networks, Integrated Services Digital Networks (ISDN), AsynchronousTransfer Mode (ATM), current (IPv4/IPv6), VoIP/IP telephony; IP video, and other next generation internet-based networks

·Develop/maintain operational and technical systems specifications/requirements; system architecturemodels; engineering plans

·Prepare technical documentation on engineering issues; review of specifications; development of technicalopinions on current and/or proposed engineering efforts; operational planning for engineering activities; andreview or engineering practices, standards, and processes

·Support rapid prototyping and provide engineering support to demonstrate, assess, and implement newsystem and telecommunications technologies.

·Maintain services requirements using best practices, including hardware, network, and virtualization

·Review Network and Storage Architectures and propose resilient architectures to support current dailybusiness operations and future growth (including possible DR/BCP solutions)

·Provides subject matter expertise and leadership in the areas of network and storage technologies as well ascross-training and knowledge sharing with other team members

·Review network utilization and performance trends, and troubleshoot common issues

·Set project implementation approach for team, customer, and external supplier activities, and deliverables

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·Experience in Virtualization, Network and Storage Engineering or within the IT field.

·Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.

·Expert knowledge in Windows and Linux operating systems is essential

·Hands-on experience with different storage technologies – SAN, NAS and with network redundancytechnologies, such as network interface bonding

·Working experience in access control systems and the effect on downstream technologies

·7 years of experience in network technologies, infrastructure solutions and software to include monitoringand securing enterprise networks

·Experience with cloud-based computing services such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.

·Experience with Hybrid deployments – physical and virtual machines (both on-prem and cloud)

·Working knowledge in Cloud deployments – especially Azure and AWS

·Working knowledge in Kubernetes

·Knowledge of CEPH

·Knowledge of Cloud and on premise data center networking infrastructure.

·Knowledge of cloud Gateways, firewalls, routing.

·Knowledge of IPV6

·Knowledge of Cloud access points

·Knowledge of Aviatrix Gateways and AT&T Net Bond

·Knowledge of cloud and on premise networking troubleshooting

·In addition to Cisco Routing/Switches and programming

·Knowledge of Cisco ACI

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with end-users, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 95% of the time. Work Environment: Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead waist level from floor), bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use; frequently fast paced environment.
