Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with end-users. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 95% of the time.
Work Environment:
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead waist level from floor), bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use, frequently fast paced environment.

Essential Duties:
- Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining VMware/ESXI software, Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Schedules installations, upgrades and maintenance in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Monitors tunes and coordinates the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensures virtual workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of VMware Infrastructure/Hardware to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines (e.g. DISA STIGs).
- Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments which are broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Has the ability to apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
- Plans and leads major technology assignments.
- Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
- Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
Minimum Experience, Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Five years of experience and applicable advance certifications for the specified areas
- At the Governments discretion years of experience may be substituted in lieu of certifications.
- Desired Certifications: VMware VCP 6.5 or Higher, VCTA, or VCAP.
