Commercial Litigation Legal Secretary- Downtown Orlando A minimum of three (3) years of law firm experience required, supporting a minimum of five attorneys. Advanced skills with Outlook and Word (using styles, track changes and document comparison programs). Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced skills with Adobe Acrobat. Proven aptitude to learn new software applications. Knowledge of appellate, federal, and state court systems, including appellate and federal e-filing and state court online filing systems required. Interpersonal communication skills necessary to maintain effective relationships with partners, attorneys, clients, and staff in person, by email and telephone. Ability to provide a high level of customer service and be able to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Must be detailed oriented, able to work independently and in a team environment and able to implement high priority projects. Fundamental knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and procedures. Prepares and processes legal documents including, but not limited to subpoenas, complaints, motions and other legal documents and pleadings under the supervision and direction of the attorneys. Schedules and coordinates hearings with Federal and state courts. Schedules and coordinates depositions and other attorney/client meetings. Dockets legal pleadings and calendars other dates as appropriate. Manages attorneys? calendars. Assists with opening and closing of client matters. Organizes and maintains client files and form files. Assists with billing/edits; enters attorney time into time entry system as requested. Enters expenses into the expense system and requests checks for various vendors. Provides dependable, flexible support. Demonstrates teamwork by providing secretarial and administrative support to others as requested by the Human Resources Manager whenever workload permits; contributes to the assimilation of new legal and support staff.
