Job Responsibilities:

Apple Ford Shakopee has an opening in our Service Department. We are looking for a full-time Heavy-Duty Truck Technician. A Heavy-Duty Truck Technician will generally assist in the repair and diagnosis of major components or remove/replace major components of various truck and trailer equipment at the direction of Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor. Expectations include the ability to diagnose and repair the following with little or no supervision; clutch's, PTO systems, electrical systems, Hydraulic/(Air) Brake systems, Heating/Air Conditioning Systems, and Preventative Maintenance Services.  Will also be utilized in main shop as a hybrid technician.

• Pull vehicles in for service, performing the communicated service on vehicles.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of - engines (gas and diesel), differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, steering and suspension, electrical and electronic systems, Brake Systems including ABS, and Drivability Concerns (gas or diesel).
• Identify Warrantable repairs and document on repair order.  Maintain work areas appearance and safety.

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years’ practical experience with vehicle repair.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of shop tools required.
• Ford Master Certified Technician and Diesel Certified
• Hours: 4-10 hour shifts
