Job Description THERAPIST (independent contractor - Reading, Bethlehem area) Pennsylvania Forensic Associates is looking for a Therapist on part time contract basis. The role will provide specific counseling services to a offender population within an outpatient treatment setting. POSITION STATEMENT: The Therapist position will complete group, individual, and family sessions, provide education and process groups, and be responsible for accurate and timely record-keeping as required by the Program’s regulations. The incumbent will do individual assessments, group sessions, one to one counseling, complete patient documentation in a timely manner, work with a team to determine individual treatment plans and report patient progress to referral sources. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS • Utilizing accountability-focused CBT model. • Testifying at Court, as requested • Completing Court treatment reports/updates • Participating in Treatment Team planning meetings with Caseworker, Probation/Parole Officer, and Juvenile Probation • Completing group and individual case history notes in a timely manner • Holding family sessions as needed • Meeting with assigned clients individually to address criminogeic/delinquency issues • Running treatment groups to challenge cognitive distortions and develop an understanding of offense cycles. • Running psycho educational treatment groups. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES • Participates on Committees as requested • Assists as needed in preparation for and during the Annual Audit • Other duties as assigned MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS • Master’s Degree or Certification in Counseling required • One of several clinical licenses preferred • EXPERIENCE and SKILLS: • At least one (1) year’s experience providing direct care counseling services (required) • Knowledge of human services • Excellent communication skills • Excellent computer skills • Excellent writing, documentation , financial, and mathematical skills • Excellent organizational skills Pennsylvania Forensic Associates is part of Apis Services, Inc., an Equal Opportunity Employer –
