General Manager

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations. This includes overseeing a team, tracking financial data, and setting goals.

What you would be responsible for:

• Directs, manages, and optimizes the overall operations of one or more plants or other production facilities.
• Sets policies and makes decisions guiding productivity, quality, and cost efficiency of plant operations.
• Establishes systems to collect metrics, analyze productivity and set performance targets that will meet revenue and cost goals.
• Leads the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement.
• Experience in planning and budgeting
• Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
• Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
• Analyzing accounting and financial data.
• Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
• Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
• Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
• Ensures robust plant safety and security procedures and training are in place and that operations are in compliance with all required regulations.
• Leads any employee relations activities involving the plant. Directs plant level support functions including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources to ensure alignment with overall plant operations.
• Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function.
• Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments

Knowledge/Skills:

• Previous experience as a General Manager or other senior-level managerial position
• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 8+ years of managerial experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.
• Knowledge of market changes, developing strategies and business plans
• Understanding of finance and performance measures
• MUST HAVE Aerospace or Military/Défense background
• Machining environment is REQUIRED
• Excellent organization and leadership skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
