Distribution Systems Analyst

Apex currently seeking a Distribution Systems Analyst to join our Automation Solutions team.  The position is a unique role that will focus on analyzing client transactional history and running design modeling tools in support of warehouse design projects to improve our client’s warehousing and distribution performance, that reduce their cost structures, labor dependencies, and improve their throughput capabilities.

Our Analyst will be exposed to a wide variety of opportunities and range of projects which could include: logistics network design, facility (plant or warehouse) rationalization, plant and warehouse design, operational assessment, technology/software selection and solution implementation. Typical project tasks will include data gathering, data analysis, process mapping, defining requirements, current situation or baseline establishment, alternative scenario creation and analysis and design modeling.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand clients’ project scope
• Gather, clean, and analyze relevant data
• Participate in process and operational assessments at client facilities
• Summarize data and present relevant findings
• Develop and execute design modeling tools to evaluate alternative designs using table driven variables

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, logistics or related field
• Familiarity with Material Handling equipment and technologies
• Ability to work well in team settings
• Solid communication skills
• Good presentation abilities
• WMS software systems, WCS systems, IT networks, process automation experience a plus
• Material Handling equipment and technologies specification preparation a plus
• Systems Configuration, testing, and training
• Willing and able to travel domestically over 30% of the time
• 3+ years of experience with database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL etc.)
• 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel/Access platform
• 3+ years of experience in mathematical solving and heuristics programming or modeling tools a plus
• Experience using BI/Visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Cognos, Qlik, a plus
• Scripting experience using Python and JavaScript to automate workflow, a plus
• Simulation experience, a plus
• Familiarity with major technology stacks such as C+ or .NET a plus
