Actuarial Analyst II - Pricing (State of Kentucky)

Preferred Locations: Indianapolis, IN; St. Louis, MO

Alternate Locations: Mason, OH; Waukesha/Pewaukee, WI; Atlanta, GA; Louisville, KY; Richmond, VA; Virginia Beach, VA

The Actuarial Analyst II completes projects and performs complex actuarial studies, and serves as Analyst primarily supporting the state of Kentucky.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Obtains, verifies, analyzes and models data including risk reporting and forecasting.
  • Calculates monthly claims liability reserves, develops merit rating factors and prepares Department of Insurance annual statement exhibits.
  • Gathers, reviews, and submits regulatory required rate filing materials.
  • Tests rate systems and provides Underwriting support.
  • Runs and analyzes reports that support rate development and pricing decisions.
  • Conducts ad hoc analysis including things strategy / scenario modeling, product support, and competitive analysis.

  • Qualifications:
  • Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least three Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exams; at least 1 year related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • MS Excel experience required.
  • MS Office beneficial.
  • Programming experience desired; SAS/SQL preferred.
