Anodizing Line Operator1st & 2nd Shift OpeningsJOB SUMMARYAluminum anodization is an electrochemical process that enhances the strength, durability, and appearance of aluminum. When aluminum is oxidized, super-strong oxide (anodic) layers grow on the surface of the metal. These new layers are highly resistant to wear and receptive to dyes, paints, and adhesives.This production floor position is responsible for efficient operation of a single anodizing line.
Monitors all steps in our proprietary anodizing process including the conveyor belt system, racks, chemicals/dyes, and resulting product consistency and quality.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSExemplary attendance is requiredContinuously monitor each step of the anodizing process for quality of parts.Responsible for start-up of machine; adjust speed as necessary dependent upon tolerance of the parts and the number of workers on the line.Communicate with the other operators on the line as to operating conditions, dye mixture... special problems, etc., that occurred during the shift.Responsible for monitoring tanks and assuring line is operational prior to the start of the shift. Check with process manager daily as to extra duties for the next days shift.Obtain color boards and job cards as needed; obtain bath analysis from the lab and make any necessary adjustments.Inform racking crew what part is to be run and make sure the proper racks are in place.Remain on the catwalk throughout the shift to monitor the belt, racks, parts, baths, etc., and to add chemicals, dyes, and seal as needed.Maintain a clean line, free of clutter.
Store equipment properly.Make necessary repairs on the belt.Maintain, properly store, and wear appropriate safety equipment (including a respirator).Properly complete required paperwork.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSAbility to differentiate between colorsSome knowledge of chemical process helpfulGood Maintenance skillsManufacturing background a plusGood mechanical skills helpful in troubleshooting & repair of machineExperience working with chemicals and dyesExperience w/ calipers & micrometers is a plusAbility to work overtime as needed, sometimes on short noticeBase Pay: $17.00-$22.00 ($.75 shift differential if 2nd shift
