Deputy Director

Reporting to

CEO

Position summary

 Will BE RESPONSIBLE FOR  WORKING DIRECTLY WITH THE GRANT WRITER AFTER THE ININITIAL CALL WITH THE ENTIRE TEAM WHICH INCLUDES THE CEO.  THE DEDUTY  DIRECTOR WILL BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE CEO/ CFO THE  DEPUTY DIRECTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR UPLOADING THE GRANTS INTO THE SYSTEM ONCE APPROVED BY THE CEO.  DEDUTY DIRECTOR NEED TO PROVIDE AGENCY OVERVIEW AS IT REGULATES TO COLLABORATE PARTNERS,  MAINTAIN MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT,  OBTAINING TO SUBMISSION OF GRANTS, ATTEND MANDATORY GRANT MEETING WEBINARS, ZOOM MEETING AND CALLS WITH FUNDERS.  THE  DEPUTY DIRECTOR WILL BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE CLINICAL DIRECTOR AND MEDICAL DIRECTOR. 

                                                                                                           

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning and Evaluation Work with the Clinical Director to:

• Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.

 • Formulate policies and planning recommendations to the Board

. • Assure that the organization has a long-range strategic plan which achieves its mission, and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.

 • Develop organizational goals and objectives consistent with the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Policy Development and Administration Work with the CEO/CFO to:

 • Establish operating procedures, consistent with directives and policies of the Board of Directors and mandates of funders, and decides all matters of administrative and supervisory detail related to the operation of the organization

 • Ensure that the administrative, operational and programmatic polices meet or exceed all relevant requirements and ensure program objectives are met.

Fiscal Management Work with the CEO/CFO to:

 • Ensure compliance with funding sources and regulatory requirements.

 • Oversee organizational and fund development.

• Work with staff, Finance Committee and the board in preparing budgets; see that the organization operates within budget guidelines.

• Ensure effective audit trails.

• Approve expenditures

. • Provide for proper fiscal record keeping and reporting.

 • Ensure that the board receives monthly financial statements.

 

Public Relations and Fundraising Work with the CEO to:

 • Provide information to interested internal and external parties relative to the evaluation of the organization’s activities. • Prepare and submit grant applications and funding proposals as appropriate.

• Work with the board to raise funds from the community

. • Assure the organization and its mission, programs, services are consistently communicated to relevant stakeholders.

 • Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals. • Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.

 

Board Relations Work with the Deputy Director to:

 • Assist in the selection, education and evaluation of board members.

• Assist the board chair in planning the agenda and materials for board meetings.

 • Initiate and assist in developing policy recommendations and in setting priorities.

 • Serve as a liaison between the board and the staff.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 • Management experience within the non-profit sector

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent organizational and supervisory skills

• Knowledge of the business and non-profit community

 • Knowledge of basic community development principles

 • Knowledge of standard management and bookkeeping principles

 • Ability to manage a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
