Bookkeeper Job Description
Candidate must be consistent and accurate to minimize errors in performing this position. Must have a knowledge of accounting and understand how to use Quickbooks Online accounting software. It is crucial that candidate has the ability to use various software systems and has good technology literacy. A few other relevant skills and job duties would include the following:
Relevant Skills and Knowledge
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Understanding accounting best practices
- Knowledge of U.S GAAP and/or another accounting framework
- Data entry skills
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency using Quickbooks Online
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Produce work with a high level of accuracy
- Professionalism and organization skills
- Associates/Bachelor degree or at least three years of experience
- Knowledge of Zoho, Fresh Books, or other applications
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
- Inputting invoices and issuing weekly checks
- Update and maintain the general ledger
- Inputting and maintaining annual budget
- Recording journal entries
- Recording of debits and credit
- Account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactions
- Monthly credit card and bank reconciliations
- Use knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements
- Enter timesheets for payroll
- Monitor any variances from the projected budget
