Description
Veterinary Practice Manager - Foster a Positive Team Culture and Drive Success
Are you a veterinary practice manager that feels like your owner or corporate leadership doesn't let you run your hospital? Feel like you can't even try new ideas because "that's the way it's done"? Do you have a passion for leading and developing a team? Do you want to work in a hospital that values your ideas and creativity? If so, we want to talk to you!
Animal Farm is a busy hospital in the Outer Mission neighborhood, bringing quality medical care to pets in the area. At this time, we are using a doctor from our sister hospital to staff the hospital, but have a new doctor starting in September and a plan to hire 1-2 more. We have plans in place that are waiting for the a hospital leader's input - a full overhaul of our invoice items/packages and pricing, building an aggressive well care dental program, and building an in-house training program with a path for our assistants to become RVTs. There is a Lead RVT already in place and waiting to collaborate. The team is looking for structure and an identity after some major changes over the last year, allowing you to start with almost a blank slate and turn it into the practice and culture you've always been wanting.
As a part of the United Veterinary Care group of hospitals, our hospital is committed to providing our team with unparalleled resources and opportunities for growth. With over 100 hospitals in our network, we believe that we work for our hospitals, not the other way around. Whether you come from a private practice or a corporate environment, you'll find that our group offers unique advantages. Unlike many corporate veterinary environments, we value your autonomy and will work with you to achieve your goals. As a manager, you'll have the support of a peer group of local hospitals and regular access to development conversations with your line manager. You'll have the opportunity to present to high-level members of the organization and participate in monthly leadership development meetings. Our manager is dedicated to your growth and development, and you'll find that our focus on team building and professional development sets us apart from other practices.
As our Veterinary Practice Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of approximately 7 direct reports and 2-3 doctors. You will be responsible for training, developing, and coaching team members to deliver outstanding client service and achieve financial goals. You will also work with the rest of the hospital leadership to manage the hospital's finances, develop budgets, and monitor key performance indicators. Other responsibilities include:
We are seeking a seasoned leader with a minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory experience, ideally in a veterinary practice manager or similar veterinary leadership role. A registered veterinary technician license (RVT) and/or a certified veterinary practice manager (CVPM) certification would be highly valued, as would other relevant certifications (such as Fear Free, Recover CPR Training, etc.) and educational accomplishments such as a bachelor's or MBA. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the veterinary industry, outstanding communication abilities, and a strong passion for team development. They must possess a deep understanding of superior customer service principles and be committed to cultivating the next generation of veterinary professionals in our community while helping their team achieve peak performance, while providing quality care for pets.
The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on the candidate's level of experience, education, and certifications. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k with company match, flexible spending and health savings accounts, and more. We are committed to creating a workplace that is inclusive and welcoming to all and believe in equal opportunity for all employees. Relocation packages available!
