Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing Agent supports global sourcing, capacity optimization, NPD, and supplier management activities to meet company continuous improvement, productivity, and NPD goals. Evaluates business needs to develop and implement sourcing strategies, negotiates, and manages contracts, evaluates supplier performance, and builds and strengthens supplier partnerships to maximize value to Andis.

Responsibilities

  • Supports global sourcing, capacity optimization, and cost reduction initiatives to meet company cost savings, NPD, and productivity goals.
  • Manages and updates NPD Project CBOMs and communicates cost fluctuations and main cost drivers to Executive Team.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams and suppliers to identify opportunities of technology advancement, cost savings, lead time reductions, working capital improvements, quality enhancements, and service level upgrading.
  • Gathers market intelligence data including commodity specific issues, cost drivers, pricing trends, best practices, and economic indicators.
  • Support new product development teams on global sourcing issues and solutions.
  • Work closely with Value Stream Leaders to lead and implement VMI and stocking programs
  • Identify and execute process improvement projects to increase the operating efficiencies.
  • Issue purchase orders for tooling, initial product purchases, and capital equipment
  • Resolves complex problems in supply management
  • Leads others to solve complex problems using analytical thought, exercising best judgement, and identifying innovative solutions.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to identify, qualify, and develop global supplier partnerships
  • Familiar with cost model, make vs. buy analysis, industry tools and market intelligence to improve supply chain performance.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and lean/continuous improvement processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, high level of interpersonal, project management, contract negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required or minimum 5 years sourcing or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and lean/continuous improvement processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft offices and AS/400 applications.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-15% (domestic and international)
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) is a plus
