Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Perform as the initial internal quality contact to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through advising supervisors and employees, to ensure Anderson & Dahlen Inc. consistently meets our customer specifications and quality expectations.

MAJOR AREAS FOR ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Exhibits Anderson Dahlen’s Core Values through action and intent
  • Facilitate the corrective action process
  • Analyze non-conformance data to drive root cause and corrective action
  • Perform dimensional, receiving, in process and final inspections as required
  • Represent Quality at Engineering Project Status meetings
  • Assist in the development of control/ inspection plans to ensure product compliance
  • Audit control/inspection plans for compliance at the point of execution
  • Be the Voice of Customer while aiding shop floor issues
  • Support lean/continuous improvement programs
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing to design fixtures, jigs, processes that ensure error free repeatability
  • Maintain quality performance data for shop floor and senior management
  • Work with Purchasing Dept to manage supplier performance
  • May provide work direction and task prioritization for the inspection function
  • May act as Quality Contact in the absence of the Quality Director
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:

  • Associates degree or equivalent certificate in a technical/management discipline or five years related quality experience
  • A good understanding of machining, welding and metal fabrication
  • Hands on experience in inspection methods, to include set-ups, blueprint reading and GD&T
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to lead improvement teams in problem solving
  • Very strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written with all stakeholders
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret specifications, prints, and technical documents
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion

  • Lift/Carry-
    • 0-20 lbs.- frequently
    • 21-100 lbs.- occasional
  • Push/Pull-
    • 0-25 lbs.- frequently
    • 26-75 lbs.- occasionally
    • 76-100 lbs.- Not at all
  • Bend- 34-66% during a 10-hour shift
  • Twist/Turn- 34-66% during a 10-hour shift
  • Kneel/Squat- 0-33% during a 10-hour shift
  • Sit- 0-33% during a 10-hour shift
  • Stand/Walk- 67-100% during a 10-hour shift
  • Overhead Reaching- 0-33% during a 10-hour shift
  • Ladder/Stair Climb- 0-25% during a 10-hour shift

SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

No direct supervision responsibilities however provides work direction for:

  • Indirect leadership and facilitation of small groups while training and in the performance of duties
  • Quality management system alignment across facilities.
