Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, this employee will be responsible for key technical aspects of projects they are assigned to complete. As a part of the Engineering Department, the employee will become a critical team member supporting the production of engineering documents used in the production parts for our customers. The employee must draw from fabrication experience and quickly acquire knowledge of Anchor capabilities to efficiently produce models and drawings that drive CNC equipment and inform employees in downstream operations. In addition to these production tasks, the designer will be responsible for the creation of inventive solutions for external and internal customers. These solutions the design of industrial products or the systems and tooling required for their fabrication. This includes weld fixtures, templates and gauges in support of production operations or our quality department.
- Creating 1-to-1 full scale models capable of driving CNC production.
- Proficiency in sheet metal features.
- A working knowledge of SolidWorks configurations.
- Custom properties

- ASME Y14.41 drawing standards
- Press brake production knowledge
- Welding symbol proficiency
The following set of skills are not required but highly desirable and a useful addition to the team.
- A working knowledge of SolidWorks EPDM
- Press brake operation experience
- Welding experience
- Experience in creating custom SolidWorks macro’s
To be successful, the employee will need to communicate effectively with customers, sales personnel and others to establish project scope, evaluate product design, suggest improvements and identify possible limitations. They will need to work closely with other Engineering Department personnel on collaborative projects. Additionally, the employee will need to learn the existing established procedures and yet know the benefit of implementing innovative change.
