HR Generalist (Must Have Manufacturing Exp)

The HR Generalist is responsible for site Recruitment, Employee Relations, LOA’s, Safety, Compliance, Data Management and other Human Resources functions. Advises and counsels line managers and employees on Human Resources programs. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and may support corporate projects as needed.

  • Site Recruitment: Confers with managers and administrative staff to determine staffing needs and recruit candidates for current and anticipated exempt or nonexempt openings.
  • Evaluates, screens, refers, and recommends to line managers new, transfer, and promotional candidates to meet non-exempt/hourly staffing needs.
  • Serves as site Benefits Administrator for the Company benefit programs including 401(k).
  • Acts as site liaison between employees and carriers to resolve problems, reconciling monthly billings, support open enrollment. Responsible for COBRA compliance for the Company.
  • Administers Leaves of Absence within mandatory State & Federal regulations (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Paid Family Leave, etc).
  • Assists with site Safety, and Workers’ Compensation administrator
  • Assists in the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge of changing legal requirements affecting Human Resources and Labor compliance.
  • Monitors Company compliance with Human Resources laws, requirements, and programs and compiles information, and prepares reports.
  • Assists managers and employees in interpreting and implementing Company Human Resource policies and programs and in resolving employee relations problems.
  • Performs Human Resource management functions in absence of the Manager.
  • Responsible for supporting Payroll with timely data entry, special projects for the department.
  • Execute duties in a highly organized manner, ability to multitask and be flexible in balancing priorities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Must Have Manufacturing Experience
  • Must Be Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university; or equivalent experience in human resources preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience of directly related experience; and PHR or SPHR certification preferred; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
