Software Project Manager (Mortgage/Finance)

We are seeking an experienced software Project Manager to provide overall delivery of various products/projects in the evolution of a national mortgage industry software application suite. This position will provide broad cross-domain and cross-disciplinary expertise in establishing the schedule and measurements that will be used to design and develop the company’s software solution.

As a member of the project team, the Project Manager will work in an interactive environment with business and technical staff to ensure a high degree of collaboration in support of a successful overall solution. Responsibilities for this role will include establishing a forward-looking implementation plan, ensuring compliance against milestones, and managing established budget measurements. This is an exciting project role where strategic perspective and hands-on collaboration are required.

Qualifications and Role Responsibilities

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in managing successful software implementations for enterprise business applications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in deploying enterprise software solutions, utilizing Java Based and / or Microsoft. NET framework
  • Proven expertise in the use of project tracking tools as applied to multi-million dollar and multi-year software projects
  • Proven experience in the use of software tracking tools such as Jira (preferred) or Microsoft Team Foundation Server including the creation, tracking, and reporting of micro-level tasks
  • Ability to develop and manage software measures and metrics to support a master projects plan’s milestones, timeline, and effort projections
  • Ability to analyze project plan information in order to derive any potential budget overage, underage, and or constraint
  • Ability to develop and manage an enterprise solution migration roadmap and implementation strategy
  • Ability to prepare and present current-state and future-state analysis (written and verbal) to the software development team, senior management, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in working directly with executives, project leads/teams and stakeholders to resolve project constraint issues as well as articulating the benefits of project management in general
  • Ability to facilitate team meetings and capture feedback from discussions to assist in project improvements
  • Strong skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Project Management theory, concepts and principals (e.g. theory of constraints, critical path methodology, project risk management, project scope management, project management lifecycle etc.)
  • Experience to identify potential impacts and/or gaps in terms of organization, business and processes between current customer situations, and the desired end-state of the software solution
  • Proven ability to anticipate and appropriately escalate on forthcoming issues and risks of the software solution
  • Experience in the utilization of an industry accepted, structured software development life cycle methodology
  • Experience in having performed multiple key roles (project manager, lead business analyst, lead developer, implementation manager, etc.) on an enterprise software effort
  • Ability to develop design principals, standards, and procedures for software development and ensure broad understanding and compliance across the entire project team implementing those standards
  • Experience leading the design of complex software products including the deployment of multiple versions/releases of a large product
  • Must be an excellent communicator
