Network Administrator

Are you looking to take the next step in your IT career? We are looking for a Network Administrator who can review, document, and implement network policy, firmware upgrades, security policies, and other technical solutions required to support company business.

Job Description:

Work encompasses analysis, evaluation, and implementation of network design and equipment involving complex and sophisticated technical concepts and principles.

III. Objective / Accountability

a. Configures network equipment for use both in the Data Center and in remote locations to support LAN based servers and clients and WAN based clients; includes VOIP, firewalls, routers and network switches.

b. Prepares detailed instructions for configuration and use (including written descriptions, specifications, and diagrams) of network equipment and topology.

c. Maintains records and documentation of broadband services (DSL, Cable broadband and Wireless broadband) including support contacts and assigned IP addresses.

d. Works with the IT Manager requiring only minor direct supervision to solve network problems, install new equipment and maintain existing equipment.

e. Troubleshoots network, ISP and operations issues; interfaces with vendors and service providers to achieve resolution.

f. Routinely monitors log files and alert messages from all networked equipment (including servers and associated devices) to maintain functionality on a proactive basis in order to minimize downtime.

g. Downloads and upgrades firmware in all networked devices, including servers and associated equipment.

h. Performs other related activities as requested by management.

VI. Responsibility and Authority

a. Employee Relations: You are responsible to maintain helpful and cooperative relations with Club Members, guests, and fellow employees throughout the company.

b. Materials or Products: Maintain your workspace as a clean and safe environment.

c. Equipment: Cisco Unified Call Manager and Contact Center, VMware, SonicWALL Firewalls, HP ProCurve Network Switches, Cisco Routers, HP c-Class Blade Chassisn, and component modules.

d. Financial: N/A

e. Contacts: Maintain good communications with the IT Manager regarding the status of equipment with the identification of problems and the solutions applied to resolve them.

Qualifications:

a. Undergraduate college degree, network certifications and/or equivalent experience.

b. At least three years of programming experience utilizing hardware and software of comparable size and complexity to that being used at this facility.

c. Detailed understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP) and a working knowledge of some programming languages (such as C, C++ and Visual Basic) and operating system environments (such as Cisco IOS, Windows and UNIX).

d. Complete command of the English language with excellent communication skills.

e. Work location requires the ability to ascend/descend steps required to enter the workplace.

f. Reasonable typing skills for configuration, programming and documentation purposes.
