Job Title: Clinical Informatics Pharmacist
Location: Chicago, IL 60608
Pay range: $49.00 to $51.00 an hour
Employment type: 6-months contract-to-hire
Are you ready to take your Pharmacy career to the next level? We are looking for a Pharmacy Informaticist to provide technical and administrative support to the Department of Pharmacy. This is for a well-established hospital in Chicago that has been around for 100 years now.
Principal responsibilities include:
Provide support and maintenance for the Meditech EMR.
Utilize knowledge of various add-on applications including but not limited to: Dr. First, First Data Bank, Omnicel, MedMined, and support vendor interaction with related applications.
Ensure that accurate, timely, efficacious, and cost-effective pharmacy services are provided.
Extract data and perform analytical and evaluative work in generating information related to the Pharmacy’s scope of services.
Develop recommendations for workplace enhancements and corrections.
Assist the Pharmacy Manager and Director in all matters involving data transfer, processing, mining, and reporting.
Work with the Pharmacist and Technician staff to maximize hardware and software capabilities in meeting patient care and administrative demands.
Use clinical experience to adjudicate non-formulary medication requests in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Interface with quality improvement staff and programs, generating, preparing, and providing information as requested.
Identify discrepancies and develop systems to ensure the Pharmacy Service’s compliance with laws, rules and regulations.
Exhibit initiative and resourcefulness in managing program and assigned workload.
Provide high quality, patient centric care by incorporating sound management and evidence-based medicine principles to ensure safe, effective and efficient medication therapy.
Interact professionally with all customers.
Incorporate the hospital's Mission, Vision, and Values into own priorities and practice.
Occasionally travel between hospitals within the system.
Occasionally work as a Staff Pharmacist to gain insight into the workflow and issues that pharmacists encounter while using Meditech or other applications.
Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution, with Pharm D preferred.
The ideal candidate is someone who has the following:
Proficiency in operating a personal computer and associated applications used for entering pharmaceutical information and producing reports.
Previous inpatient pharmacy experience.
Previous experience with the Meditech EMR system preferred.
Pharmacy Informatics residency preferred.
Active Pharmacy license.
