With our technical capabilities, the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team is able to manage multiple systems and our operational capabilities enable us to have medications available when and where needed, reducing inefficiency and waste for nursing and pharmacy teams.
As Senior Manager, Software Engineering you will lead a group of teams developing and testing complex software for medical dispensing applications.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Leading the work of teams of engineers, including offshore associates, team managers, and professionals of various technical disciplines for assigned engineering projects by identifying short- and long-term solutions and timelines; reviewing and approving proposed solutions; implementing new architectural patterns; and performing design and code reviews of changes.
Contributing to medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by leading teams in reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; writing code and automated unit tests; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; troubleshooting open issues and bug fixes; and enhancing designs to prevent reoccurrences of defects.
Collaborating with the project and cross functional teams; ensuring on-time deliveries; interacting with project managers to provide input on project plan; and providing leadership to the project team.
Troubleshooting business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information; engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; formulating an action plan; directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completing documentation.
Supporting business objectives by collaborating with business partners to identify opportunities; addressing high-priority initiatives; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and leading cross-functional partnership.
Leading the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level designs by partnering with the product and project management, business, and user experience teams; driving proof-of-concept; and implementing prototypes to validate ideas.
Driving the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting accordingly; developing contingency plans; demonstrating adaptability; and supporting continuous learning.
Providing supervision and development opportunities for associates by training, mentoring, assigning duties, building a team-based work environment, establishing performance expectations, conducting regular performance evaluations, recognizing exceptional work, coaching for success, and ensuring diversity awareness.
Promoting and supporting company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Ensuring business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; and soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
To be successful in this role, you require:
Ability to facilitate communication between technical, clinical, program management and executive stakeholders.
Proven ability to earn respect, trust, and influence from people you work with and to mentor top technical talent
BS/MS in information technology, computer science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
Education and experience required:
B.S. in software engineering or similar technical field; M.S. or PhD a plus.
6+ years of proven track record of hands-on development of scalable systems with various elements of full-stack software development.
Experience leading high-performance teams in developing reliable, maintainable, and efficient software.
