The Data Quality Engineer (DQE) will be responsible for will be responsible for ensuring continuously improving levels of quality and reliability in projects and existing production functionality in support of operations service delivery. The DQE will develop processes and procedures to support the operating quality and efficiency of quality control checks in the production environment. The DQE will work closely with senior QC staff, CB business process owners, CB data content owners, external operations vendors and CB IT staff to ensure that operational data flows are properly executed and appropriate data quality controls are developed and maintained. The DQE will work closely with all teams necessary to implement, measure, and improve quality standards for new and existing production functionality.

The Data Quality Engineer reports to the Senior Director of Ops Quality Control.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Execute production QC checks in a timely manner and report the QC results to stakeholders. Responsible for providing QC results in a clear, concise manner to the appropriate customers/stakeholders and the QC team.
Take complete ownership of assigned areas of work.
Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.
Develop and maintain the procedures needed to manage and ensure the successful completion of all operational data transfers, including managing normal business-as-usual operations for data flows as well as ensuring that exception conditions, alternate flows, and unusual circumstances have appropriate quality measures in place to ensure error free processing.
Work with necessary technical support teams and business process owners for investigation and resolution of production quality control failures that affect operations service delivery. Provide status of assigned work to the appropriate customers/stakeholders and/or Quality team members when requested or at predefined intervals.
Represent the Ops QC team (act as a QC POC) and be able to speak to assigned projects/tasks in meetings with customers/stakeholders.
Independently reach out and follow-up with customers/stakeholders when needed and related to assigned work or area of responsibility.
Record their QC results in the QC results logs to support the QC metrics collection and keep their results up to date.
Gain an understanding of customers/stakeholders and operational processes associated to their assigned area of responsibility. Independently build and manage relationships with customers/stakeholders.
Maintain QC requirements, procedures, and checklists, halt criteria, and run books.
Coordinate and maintain the production QC schedule.
Responsible to meet QC productivity and quality goals for all deliverables and projects. Assist other senior QC team members in the execution of QC checks.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Education/Experience:
BS. Degree in information systems, engineering, operations, or related technical field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in transactional quality back-office operations.
Experience working with IT development teams, and infrastructure support organizations.
Demonstrated ability to perform both routine daily tasks and highly skilled analysis and complex project work.
Experience in supporting processes for the technical and operational architecture of complex enterprise systems.

  • Strong computer literacy, with focus on databases and other data structures, but also including Microsoft Office application
