Ames is looking for a variety of safe, efficient, highly skilled, productive operators for our project in North Carolina.
Dozer Operator
- Aware of work area; trucks and ground personnel
- Communicate with haul equipment
- Understand stakes i.e. lines and grade
- Understanding lift thickness 8”
- Ability to grade for positive drainage (Preparing for a rain event)
- Understand soils and the changing of soils
- Keep a level uniform fill
- Understand and utilizes slot dozing when preforming Cat fill
- Ability to realize when they are production dozing
- Know when it is time to finish areas
Excavator
- Aware of work area; trucks and ground personnel
- Understand production loading – 350-400cy/hr
- Able to cut benches for the next pass
- Full buckets; 10+2 operating positions 6-8’ cuts
- Never load towards the cabs
- Ability to keep level cuts and positive drainage
- Understanding grade stakes
- Understand soils and the changing of soils
- Always sets cut level
- Obey all utility locates NEVER ASSUME
Tractor Pan / Scrapers
- Aware of work area; trucks and ground personnel
- Communicate with push cat operator
- Understand and maintain cut level and dump level
- Ability to keep level cuts and positive drainage
- Understanding lift thickness 8”
- Understand soils and the changing of soils
- Knowledge of proper loading, hauling and dump procedures
- Understand stakes i.e. lines and grade
- Communicate and work with fill equipment
- Haul speeds
Loader-Dirt
- Aware Aware of work area; trucks and ground personnel
- Communicate with haul equipment
- Understands stakes lines and grades
- Able to stage equipment/trucks for 10+2 Loading
- Keeps equipment close to loading area
- Keeps uniform loads
- Keeps loading area level, smooth and draining
- Knowledge of proper loading procedures
Blade / Finish Blade
- Able to maintain haul roads
- Aware of work area trucks etc.
- Communicate with hauled equipment
- Understands stake’s and boundary’s
- Able to identify soft and rough areas
- Moves at a steady speed with a full moboard
- Able to grade for positive drainage
- Keeps level and uniform
Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable in OSHA standards.
- Willingness to learn and accept direction from supervisors.
- Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50lbs.
- Communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Ability to manage time, multitask and prioritize.
Ability to pass a required pre-employment drug test
