Diesel Mechanic

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician! The Diesel Mechanic/Technician will be responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium to heavy-duty diesel engine diagnosis and repairs.

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! $32-$36 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime also available!

2nd Shift: Tuesday – Saturday 1:00pm-9:30pm

What the Diesel Mechanic/Technician role looks like:

• Interact with clients in-person, email and phone as necessary
• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to vehicles
• Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare required safety documentation

What our ideal candidate looks like:

• At least 3 years experience as a Diesel Mechanic / Technician performing vehicle repair and maintenance or strong experience with medium-duty BIT & DOT Inspections and repairs or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school.
• Highly Competitive Hourly Pay, job boards are inaccurate with pay rates listed.
• Excellent communication skills and proficient computer skills
• Must have a valid driver's license

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
• Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
• Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Ability to move and position heavy objects
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
