Job Description
​AMERIND Risk is a federally chartered tribally owned corporation, formed under Section 7 of the Indian Reorganization Act (25 U.S.C. § 5124) by its Members, the governmental units of federally recognized Tribal Nations that administer federally funded housing programs for American Indian and Alaska Native families.  AMERIND Risk has the operating authority to work with Tribal Governments, Enterprises, and Citizens for Property and Liability, Workers Compensation, Homeowners and Renters, Employee Benefits coverage, Fleet Auto coverage, and Critical Infrastructure development.

Job Summary
The program manager is responsible for the execution of one or more simultaneous products under development according to the released Product Life Cycle/Phase Review process from program approval through volume production. The program manager will supervise a program team to create and build client relationships while sponsoring interaction to obtain projects. This role assists in developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients/sponsors including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations.   Responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Job Responsibilities
•Ensure that the right product is developed to meet or exceed company's quality standard and is delivered at the right time. 
•Lead program teams and facilitate the communication and interaction among the functional representatives. 
•Track program against its schedule, budget and against phase review objectives, reporting status on a regular basis to executive staff. 
•Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities. 
•Coordinate with customers, through marketing and sales, to provide necessary program status and obtain customer feedback.  
•Ensure that the right product is developed to meet or exceed company's quality standard and is delivered at the right time. 

Supervision of Others
•Directly supervises professional and non-exempt personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree and seven years progressive work experience.
•Five years management experience.
•Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
•Sales and Program Management experience preferred.
•Valid driver’s license and insurable
•No felony, theft or stealing convictions.
•Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.

Additional Eligibility Requirements
•New employees must complete the Associate in Insurance (AINS) designation within six months from the end of the 90-day evaluation period in order to be eligible for advancement and incentive compensation.
•For continued employment, employees must complete an elective course, targeted training, and six hours of professional development within 12 months after the end of the 90-day evaluation period.

•Knowledge of the functions and structure of AMERIND.
•Knowledge of the principles and practices of management, insurance and business administration.
•Knowledge of the development, preparation, and control of budgets.
•Knowledge of managerial and statistical analysis techniques and reporting procedures.
•Ability to utilize automated systems.
•Ability to understand and interpret vendor invoices, statements, and other requests for payment.
•Ability to analyze and solve problems.
•Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions.
•Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
•Ability to be persuasive and tactful in controversial situations.
•Ability to maintain accuracy of work and pay attention to detail.
•Ability to interpret applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality.
•Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds, employees and officials.
•Skill in using computerized software programs, office equipment including 10-key adding machine, and word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
•Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.
•Skill in supervising, training, and evaluating assigned staff.
•Skill in budget preparation and administration.
•Skill in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing operational and financial reports.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
•Travel 50% of time; COVID-19 vaccination required.
•Typical business office setting with moderate noise level.
•Non-office environment may be encountered for offsite presentations and support of company activities.
•Must be able to sit for work at a computer for more than 6 hours per day.
•Must be able to use hands for dexterity of motion and reach with hands and arms. Extensive use of computer keyboards.
•Occasionally required to stand and walk.
•Frequently required to talk and listen.
•Must have ability to occasionally lift 20+ lbs.

Physical Exam
Employee is required to successfully pass an annual physical exam to certify that the incumbent is capable of performing the physical demands of the job as described above.
