Job Description:

Position Summary

We are seeking experienced business-to-business Account Representatives to cover Fayetteville NC and the surrounding territories (Hoke, Scotland, Robeson, Bladen, Columbus, Brunswick, and Sampson Counties). Incumbents will work in the territory to develop and organize new blood drive opportunities with community businesses, churches, schools, and other sponsors. Sales account representatives in this fast-paced role will also work with these organizations to recruit blood donors from their respective networks.

Account Representatives receive a base salary plus a monthly incentive for achieving performance and blood collection goals.

Account Representative - Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement effective strategies to recruit, retain and manage sponsor organizations to achieve established blood collection goals.
  • Apply market knowledge and evaluation of community, government, demographic, and competitors to identify areas for market expansion in assigned territory.
  • Recommend overall sponsor recruitment plans and project plans for short- and long-term goal achievement.
  • Coordinate structure, staffing, schedule, and marketing necessary to reach individual drive goals.
  • Educate and provide ongoing support to sponsors, volunteers, and staff on blood drive protocol, how to recruit employee ambassadors, and expectations/requirements for the event.
  • Interact in a positive, proactive, and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, demonstrating care and compassion at all times.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Minimum one-year related experience in marketing, sales, communications or related field; or an equivalent combination required.
  • Business to Business sales experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of group dynamics, direct sales, customer maintenance techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively implement programs is preferred.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively are required.
  • Good oral and written communications skills, including training and presentation skills is required.
  • A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
  • Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.
  • May be required to travel to sites throughout the Red Cross organization.
  • May require the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. May include sitting for long periods of time and working under challenging conditions.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
