At AIG, our General Insurance business success is built on developing strong relationships with our broker trading partners and clients. Join our Distribution/ Field Operations team as a Territory Distribution Leader supporting the Mid-Atlantic Region, which is part of the Northeast Zone. We are looking for a Washington D.C. based individual to collaborate with retail and wholesale broker partners in developing retention and new business production strategies across our commercial insurance product portfolio. The responsibilities will involve management of key retail / wholesale broker relationships in the Mid-Atlantic Region focusing on the following geographic markets (the Territory): Washington D.C., Northern VA, Richmond VA and Maryland. The candidate will have a proven ability to align and influence internal and external stakeholders, communicate well, be a patient listener, build a sustainable coalition, negotiate well, and be tolerant of ambiguity. Key attributes for the role include leadership, self-starter, entrepreneurialism, creativity, collaboration, alignment, accountability, strong influential skills, presence, vision, and broad insurance knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities
Broker and Client Engagement:
- Serve as the senior AIG point of contact for our focused broker partners within the Territory. Build valuable relationships and maintain regular, collaborative dialogue with key business influencers.
- Drive new business growth year over year in the risk management and corporate accounts customer segments. Document activities in Salesforce.
- Lead successful premium and account retention strategies with our focused brokers.
- Develop Strategic Business Plans with our focused broker partners to identify critical client focus areas, improve portfolio and account performance, enhance existing AIG alignment, and identify opportunities for increased partnership.
- Engage in top client relationships, serving as a point of contact for our top tier customers.
- Drive the AIG value proposition and ensure that clients and brokers are aware of the array of products, services, and solutions (enterprise-wide) available.
Internal Management:
- Champion new and existing business initiatives working with the Zone President, Managing Director, Retail and Wholesale Distribution teams and Underwriting Business Partners.
- Collaborate with Zonal leadership to ensure Client Centric Focus is integrated into all Zonal sales and business planning.
- Territory Production - in partnership with direct manager, hold regular pipeline discussions on account prospects by collaborating with product leaders on identifying targeted lines, by account, and develop executable strategies. Drive growth with a focus on the most profitable lines.
- Manage account and product portfolio across Distribution and Profit Center resources, positioning and driving negotiations internally and externally to close new business.
- Execute upon cross-selling strategies between lines of business to improve target submission flow and production.
- Meet or exceed client retention and premium retention goals for the Major Account Segment in the Zone.
- Be able to produce monthly new business top trades for discussion reflecting targeting strategies within the state.
What we're looking for
- Experience in Property & Casualty insurance
- Proven broker management and relationship experience (within the existing geography preferred, but not required)
- Ability to build relationships, internally and externally and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
- Must excel in multi-tasking and problem-solving under deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to effectively present to both small and large groups.
