How will you make an impact in this role?

The Instructional Designer/Developer within the Global Regulatory/Required Learning (GRL) team will focus on developing enterprise learning solutions in partnership with global stakeholders and external design vendors. Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to; performing analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions related to enterprise regulatory business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Use instructional design principles and methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, AGILE Models) to design, storyboard, develop, and implement enterprise eLearning courses to support financial institution and bank holding company regulations, laws, and American Express policies.
  • Design course content elements aligning with American Express branding guidelines, including graphics and audio and video. Collaborate with global Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), business partners, key stakeholders and external resource vendors to develop best-in-class learning content.
  • Develop and implement translations, as required, using third-party software or translation vendor.
  • Manage projects to ensure they progress on schedule and are completed by established deadlines.
  • Support regulatory audit requests as pertains to GRL program, processes, and/or procedures as appropriate.
  • Develop learning resources such as PowerPoint decks, handbooks, manuals, and job aids to support program governance and/or enterprise learning initiatives.
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and implement innovative solutions.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of learner assessment activities.
  • Analyze course assessment results and course feedback to formulate and present recommendations for course and program improvement to key stakeholders.
  • Perform course management tasks within the enterprise Learning Management System.
  • Perform other duties and support other team members as appropriate.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum three or more years in an Instructional Design role using rapid development tools, including but not limited to: Captivate and Articulate 360 (Storyline).
  • Fluency programming with variables and functions (Advanced Actions preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must possess an understanding of instructional design and learning methodologies and principles including course design, development, implementation, and evaluations.
  • Must have experience developing/programming learning materials, e.g., web-based, instructor led, virtual learning, and knowledge assessments to support colleague learning outcomes.
  • Must have proven experience performing project management activities (management of project SMEs, content, timeline, and budget, as appropriate).
  • Must be results oriented and be able to organize and independently manage various projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and present data analysis, research findings, projects, and recommendations to enhance the enterprise learning program.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Must demonstrate strong and effective leadership skills, as well as the ability to operate comfortably within a complex culture and a global environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with heavy workloads, under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated working in a strong virtual team environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with object-oriented programming (HTML, XML, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, etc.).
  • Ability to code communication between the course and the LMS beyond the standard functions in Captivate or Storyline.
  • Experience with SCORM 2004, 1.2 and AICC requirements.
  • Graphic creation expertise with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Snagit.
  • Expertise with audio and video editing tools such as Audition, Premiere, or After Effects.
  • Accessibility 508/ADA knowledge and experience.
  • Administration experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) platforms- Cornerstone experience.


Education Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in an instructional design and programming role OR
  • BS or Masters in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Education, or related degree.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
