The American College of the Building Arts in Charleston, SC is seeking a qualified Adjunct Professor of Spanish for the Spring Semester. Teaching duties will include one section of Spanish 102.
Adjunct Instructor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparation and instruction of classroom using multiple teaching methods to include technology and to assist in evaluating student achievement of learning outcomes
Teaching Performance: Provide students with course materials including the syllabus, grading/attendance policy, and other relevant information in a timely manner; relate instructional materials, discussions, and all course activities to course objectives; demonstrate effective instructional methodology; use practical examples and illustrations; pace the instruction over the semester; provide students with timely evaluations; provide evaluation results in a timely manner; relate evaluations to course objectives; follow acceptable college grading policies.
Curriculum / Instructional Development and Management: Develop and maintain course documentation; maintain appropriate materials for courses taught; Submit reports in a timely manner; maintain accurate records; manage the classroom environment for effective learning.
Student Advisement: Maintain and publicize required office hours and availability; refer students to other persons for appropriate assistance; maintain appropriate records; meet with students in a timely manner; display sensitivity to students’ needs and problems; advise students appropriately, based on their career plans and academic needs.
Compensation: Adjunct professors are paid $3000 per class over the semester. The class meets for 2.5 hours per week for 15 weeks.
